ME: Who isn't sure about inerrancy but loves the Bible while also being weirded out by it. Who is weirded out by the Bible, but can really get on board with Jesus. Who is also sometimes extremely puzzled & even annoyed by Jesus. Who doesn't feel like there's any time to sort any of it out, they just continue to live, frustrated by the attempt to reconcile a good faith in a world that seems to only applaud a bad one.

If tragedy never strikes, performative faith will serve you just fine. If no one ever disappoints you, it's fine. If you're never confronted with new information, it's fine. Because you're not actually taking God seriously, you're taking yourself seriously. You have faith in your performance, and God really doesn't have much to do with it
