Being a woman in academia means you have to go the EXTRA mile to be a professional because people are always looking for ways to undermine you. And this GRAD STUDENT attends a CROWDED seminar at STANFORD where the guy from HARVARD who is THINKING OF HIRING HER is presenting his work and she SITS ON HER FAKE PROFESSOR-BOYFRIEND’S LAP IN THE FRONT ROW because her “friend” told her to???? STUPID AND UNNECESSARY

Re-reading because the movie is coming out soon and I need to know if I actually liked this book when I first read it or if it was just pandemic-induced psychosis
