I interepret that she is saying self satisfaction leads to stop questioning yourself and therefore it stop yourself from growing intellectually and real wisdom.

With which I totally agree! But I think a healthy sense self satisfaction is also important to grow and learn more. It also prevents you from getting too stressed about yourself.

jacob graham I agree with your interpretation! Dorothea is so introspective and self-aware—and she has such integrity and holds herself to such a high standard—that, unlike other characters (and many real life people 😂), she fears the sort of intellectual complacency that can come, if one doesn't practice intellectual humility, with knowledge!
