After a very brief window into Grace's life, we go back to John and Mary Davenport, who identify the foundling as they son. Everyone has serious reservations about the boy's actual identity. They return home to a media frenzy.

John gets a lead on a tramp with a boy. Mary goes to see a psychic.

I am not sure if it's the writing style, my familiarity with this story, or a combination of both, but I'm really struggling with this book. Going to try to stick it out.
