This is becoming hate read because I can feel grooming being potrayed as something romantic.

My mom read it when she was in elementary school in periods of power outages with nothing to do. So I can understand her not seeing through this shit as I do now in my 20s. Hell I'll try to force her to reread after I finish it.

Dear god I really hope another male character shows up otherwise this is pure pedophilia and grooming and not even being set in 1920s can make it right.

I don't know anything about this book except that my mom claims it's one of best she ever read and that it's set in New Zealand and Australia.

So far it's like most of classics, slow, lot of decriptions, but I love setting and writing. After all I was motivated to start it after I watched My Brilliant Career (netflix) which was awful lmao. But I loved setting heh
