That panel of Maggie looming over a broken Matt is absolutely epic. I’d also completely forgotten who she was until that exact panel, which struck a chord. Fisk’s internal monologue is nearly like poetry, the way his motif is “There is no corpse.” I bloody love Daredevil comics, and I love Frank Miller. I’m starting to really recall why I, among all others, love this so very much.

Urich’s inclusion and importance to this run was never my favourite aspect, but he really is making for some great moments narratively, especially the end of ‘Saved.’ This is really making me want to rewatch Daredevil, and start Born Again on Disney+.

The art in this run is a true spectacle. I’m loving the split narratives, and the twisted character study of Matt. Born Again Kingpin might be the greatest villain in any comic— he carries that same mindset as the Joker across most Batman comics, but he’s not as fucked up, so maybe not. Loving this reread, though.

A classic. One of, if not the best comic run of all time, and the narrative set in motion by the first issue is one of the strongest starts to any story ever. Matt’s life torn apart, the only thing going for him is Daredevil, who is tearing him apart.
