If Albert was right and they were only schoolgirls about the same age as his sisters in England, how was it they were allowed to set out alone, at the end of a summer afternoon? He reminded himself that he was in Australia now: Australia, where anything might happen. In England everything had been done before: quite often by one’s own ancestors, over and over again.

Me too! I have seen the movie recently though and have no idea if it will hurt or help. At least I can somewhat visualize Australia :)

Teresa, the book is tiny!


Roman Clodia There was a BBC serialisation a few years ago now which I thought was brilliant - it really leant into the mystery.

Jan-Maat I loved both the tv series and the film, both are quite different yet valid interpretations of the book.
