Cassandra Clares portrayal of grief in this book is much more impactful compared to the original TMI series.
The death of ML in COG is brushed past very quickly due to the pacing of the book. The death of livvy is absolute. She is forcing the characters (and myself) to sit in the unfixable reality of the situation.
