More plot has happened in the last chapter than the whole front half of the book. She keeps reiterating that Charlie makes bad decisions every other chapter with a new metaphor. We get it. Also, it’s trying to paint her as some street smart junior detective when she really just keeps stumbling into the plot points without actually asking any important questions in favor of just brooding. She just. Keeps. Brooding.

I am 2 hours into this audiobook and nothing of note has happened. The narrator also doesn’t have any inflection that does not help the flat writing. I cannot believe I might DNF a book.
