“An aged creature whose life is not visibly anything but a remnant of vices.” Wow there are such remarkable turns of phrase in this book. Part of me wishes I were reading it on ebook so I could highlight them all, but the narrator is so excellent in the audiobook, I don’t think I could read it any other way. I have listened to her audio book of Emma by Naxos and it was also excellent.
