Book is great. Can’t believe I was feeling sorry for Rufus earlier in the book. Now I can’t stand him. Alice is trying to escape and get freedom for her kids and Rufus is horrible.

So far I’m actually enjoying the book. I like the fact that Dana is trying to do little small things to help the slaves later down the road like teaching Nathan how to read. It’s a really interesting book seeing how Kevin’s experience is being white and Dana’s experience is being black. And seeing how easy it is for them to get use to the plantation life even though they aren’t from this period.
