The use of “sleep suite” instead of bedroom has been pissing me off. But now due to esse’s (I’ve never seen it spelled I’m sorry) death I’m actually more invested. The plot is good, it’s just the way the author goes about it; first in her actual wording and then the underlying smut tone that irritates me. Not a book I would have chosen to read by myself but I’m not upset that I get to read it now

The narrator being a man for the guys perspective really throws me off, I’m sure I’ll adjust but I hate it right now. Yes I’m listening to the audiobook, it’s a time saver, sue me

Hate the diary entries, I’m hoping they add nothing to the story because I skipped it

The sudden change of character traits for the main character was weird in chapter three. I know we don’t know her that well yet but it’s a complete 180 from what we heard in chapter one. And it’s not character development either since we’re still setting up her character. I found it hard for my brain to grasp her values and all that with how abrupt of a shift it was

Lots of metaphors, but at least the story is getting somewhat intriguing. So many names in fantasy books my goodness, I forgot how much memorization there was

Here comes the introduction to classism, and honestly just from style of writing alone if you haven’t heard the genre of this book before you know now. It’s got fantasy romance written all over it

The prologue was an explanation of the way their world worked, at least as far as day and night cycles, dragons, the elements. So far nothing gripping that would have kept me reading
