Ha, I have such a bad attitude about this book and am forcing myself to finish it. I'm sure it's actually quite decent, but I am riding high on Mary Poppins and Peter Whimsy enchantment and this story feels dull and trite in comparison. There's no sense of place. I don't like her writing style. It worked well for the diary entries of "Catherine, Called Birdy," but feels awkward and stiff here.
