I get that this is the big plot twist but had this been revealed a little sooner, there would have been an actual plot the whole time rather than her going to the infirmary and waiting for Zev. She had a ridiculous amount of time alone and could have easily found “fun” (for the reader) ways to evade guards and Zev. This plot twist, while a twist, feels lazy.

This feels like a lot of cliches put into a book, whether intentionally or not, I don’t know. I’ve written books unintentionally putting in cliches so it could be very unintentional.
