THERE WAS A DIALOGUE STH LIKE “yeah, we’ll probably die soon/die young” AND THEN THE NARRATOR WAS LIKE “and he was speaking the truth” AND THAT HAPPENED A FEW TIMES ALREADY LIKE BRO WTF STOP

shut up what is with fredrik backman and just flatly announcing that the character will die AT THE BEGINNING OF THE BOOK like im sure that’s like top 1 thing you're not supposed to do as a writer

i mean its definitely a good hook😭 YET IM VERY NOT LIKING THE EVENTS ILL HAVE TO SURVIVE!! like he basically dropped “that was the last (i dont remember) before his mom DIED and he decided to KILL his father) LIKE FREDRIK WE’RE ONLY 40 PAGES IN WHAT THE HELL

like i can guarantee that you will have to put the winners down after reading THE FIRST FUCKING PAGE

yup these books aren’t for the wake but they make one of the most memorable triology ever written
