(2) at the beginning, didn't Anne literally say something along the lines of "oh yeah he was cute but I don't think he liked me like that :(" and then Louis's POV comes in after he sees Anne and is like "oh yeah I've actually always liked her a bit" what? this just makes their romance seem juvenile to me; as I said earlier, GIRL HOW DO YOU KNOW HE ISN'T STILL WITH/ FRANCE?! GET TF UP

(1) not to mention, Louis and Anne are cute or whatever, but I'm sorry are we not even the slightest bit concerned about the fact that this dude was LITERALLY HERE BY FRANCE'S FORCE TO FORCE YOU TO MARRY CHARLES? Their relationship advanced way too quickly for me; I don't buy it.

as much as I'm enjoying this book, it is taking liberties with the historical setting, and the magic is vague; I don't understand much of it at all. It's light, but it's also memories? and Anne can use it bc she's descended form sorcerers or something? + why hasn't anyone been surprised by THAT? btw how can Anne just perfectly use this magic that she found out she can use literally a few days ago with no practice?
