The kindle version I have lists this as "shadowslinger" so I keep thinking of it as "Shadow Slinger." Very surprising to have the second book in the series be so "does nothing I do work. Am I doomed to this life." The world seems to have moved in interesting ways, but also, not at all, and so I get where the characters are being like "man I am 50!? And still doing this!?"
