her asking him what is going on after she finds bags of blood in the fridge? GIRL, RUN. sure as a reader i know it’s a romcom, but mc doesn’t know that. SO ACT LIKE YOU DON’T KNOW YOU’TE IN A ROMCOM GIRL OMG. this plus reginald sizing her up at her job and saying she’ll “do fine”?? i would be calling a trafficking hotline like WTF. but it’s treated as nothing!

mc swooning over him ending a letter with “yours”. ma’am please leave that shit for couples with lots of longing, chemistry, etc. not a response to a note about your roommate (who you’ve talked to probably 10 mins max in your 400 year life). the whole point of that “yours” shit in romance is to make ME swoon. i am NOT swooning!

“it was still early days” when did MC become british?? and “I couldn’t draw at work […] but at that hour, there were usually some open seats on the train so I could sketch en route.” like, ok? idgaf? just sketch girl. there’s so many interesting things that could have helped the author meet the word count but nah i have to hear her talk about sketching instead of just doing it.

i was fine until she started drooling over him when they basically had one conversation when she was moving in, exchanged a couple of roommate notes, and then saw each other half naked. i really enjoy what we see of fjf, but cassie is boring asl. i feel like the artist aspect was thrown in to maybe make her interesting, but her art is so um… unique (*not*).
