This book is really hard to describe, but super fascinating. There’s a historical fiction aspect because half the story takes place around 50 BC, following a young Celtic Druidess, which is my favorite plot line so far. But I also love the modern plot with Agnes, a forensic anthropologist with a very unique mind and perspective. A body is found in a peat bog, adding an eco-fiction element I’m enjoying as well.

This is a fascinating book so far. Alternating between two very unique, fresh, engaging characters POV and timeline, we trace the mystery of a death that happened 100s of years ago, in a different culture and time. Even our modern narrative is a bit unique and quirky, which adds to the interest. The character development is fascinating to me and the scientific details are fun too!
