It feels like it's doing too much. By expanding the definition of "emotionally immature" to include abusive/narcissistic parents, it eclipses the more subtle experiences that truly fall under [only] "emotionally immature." There's no shortage (I assume) of books dealing with blatant abuse, which is certainly awful. But I'd love more focus on the subtle impact of well intentioned emotional misattunement.
