There’s no doubt I’m emotionally invested into this story. I have been since the first chapter, when I met Sydney, a bold woman who’s not afraid to call people on their ignorance. Kim’s attitude irks me so badly. I feel a pang in my chest every time I come across dog whistles, macro aggressions and racially motivated lies. This book hasn’t slowed down yet.
