Pissing me off a little bit how obvious the Cielcin were coming for the emperor with forces stronger than they’ve ever seen and just didn’t gaf. But crazy plot point for emperor to be on cusp of being captured. And fucking finally Hadrian has a more open talk with Alexander. But will all the small bits saying what’s to come I imagine he’s still a bitch to the end

Of course Urbaine not truly dead the first shot. But god I hope he’s down for the count now unless they copied his mind somewhere. So glad they atomic-ed that shithole planet. Can’t believe we saw sir Alloran again. And can’t believe Hadrian tossed his sword in the god damn ocean. And hype the Jadians have pulled up finally

Let’s gooooooo. Urbaine should have been killed 2 books ago. Udax you are avenged. Also speaking of what happened to the rest of those guys? Never heard other then they weren’t with them at start of book 4.

Jesus. There goes the whole squad, again. Fucking can’t even begin to start meeting characters. I hate Urbaine so much. He has to die.

Damn. I detest the Extras for their use and design of bio weapons and horrific things, and also love that machines have such a horror and body horror element to them in this universe. Also damn heart was pumping until that alarm went off

First off: so we’re just making the new centurion guy sound verbatim like Pelino on the audiobook huh? Second: kinda shocked Hadrian agreed to run away, I thought he’d be of the mind he has to see the war through if not because he has the power of the Quiet to actually win then because he knows there’s like 0 chance he can actually run away from inevitability. This does not bode well for Valka going into this..

I miss Pelino and Crim…

Feel like I’ve heard William the Emperor hyped as a character and before this book only saw him a few times. Really hoping this book is where he gets more time and development. I already think he’s a fascinating character. Also great to start seeing movement and exploration on the gods and ancients and that sort of lore.
