Not surprisingly, Levi's parents loved Hayden, and enjoyed meeting him very much. It was a bittersweet moment for Levi, because he realized he can no longer support his parents' insistence on keeping things surface-level, as opposed to deep, underwater level.

About halfway through Chapter 19, a "Levi" chapter.

Well, Hayden is going to meet Levi's parents. Given their long-standing practice of avoidance and keeping things surface-level, this meeting is going to be interesting, to say the least.

I predict something shall shatter, either literally or figuratively.

Oh, my! Hayden is beginning to have deeper thoughts, and deeper feelings. For both Levi and for life, as in living his life fully.

Wow! Hayden allowed himself to become so vulnerable, for the first time in a VERY long time.

Speaking of Hayden, I love how much he is welcoming his less put together look, as well as allowing himself to be vulnerable regarding matters of the heart.
