It is two days before Christmas at the Heffley's house on a cold snowy day. They were decorating the Christmas tree having a good Christmas so far. Then, BOOM the tree fell down after spending all that time decorating it. The Heffley's tried to calm down by watching Tv as a family because they never do. so they have every Christmas decoration except the main thing the Christmas tree.

GENRE: It is humor because there are jokes all around the book that are funny, then it's realistic fiction because it's about a kid in middle school like us. A joke it states is "We are only watching turtles hatch because they're Cute but if they were snakes it would be different." It also states " My first winter break of a 7th grader I wanted it to be at home." That's why its humor and Realistic Fiction.

Greg the main character of the book was mad that they were leaving for Christmas to a warm place and Greg was not happy. The airplane ride was hell for him he sat next to a husban and wife with a baby so he was mad. To begin with he does not like planes so this is really bad for him. Then they landed and he regretted what he said was perfect. Then at there hotel they gave them free stuff and drinks.
