SETTING: This book takes place in the countryside in North Carolina. They have a big house which has many rooms so people can stay there. Currently in the book they are all outside on the porch doing their everyday things. "I went out on the porch to join the others." (pg. 170) "I felt myself smile as I watched everyone." (pg. 170) They are all outside doing what they love and Idalee felt like she has a big family.

PROTAGONIST: The protagonist in my book is Idalee Lovett, she is a county song writer and enters a contest but she does not know what songs to enter. She looks for her grandpa's old songs that he hid, and finds them. Idalee enters her grandpa's songs in the contest instead of hers and cheats. After her mom gets back from a trip she tells her about how she cheated and is regretting everything she did from the start.

GENRE: The genre of my book is realistic fiction. It is realistic fiction because all of the characters are not real but they are facing real life problems and situations. I know this because the main girl tries to write a song for a contest and struggles to find a perfect song that sounds good. "Every song I tried to write was terrible." (pg. 127) This shows that there are real life problems in the book.

UPDATE: In the book Dream, it is about a girl named Idalee who wants to be a songwriter. When her mom goes on tour, she does not have enough money to get a new guitar she wants, but she heard that her grandpa has hidden treasure. She wants to find the treasure because she thinks it has money in it to buy the guitar. So she gathers her three friends and their dog to go treasure hunting, to try to find the treasure.
