In My friend Anne Frank, Hannah tells how in 1941 all help sources other countries had given them were shut down, all of the Jewish were marked with a J on them. All Dutch radios and newspapers were monitored by the Germans. It was a time of full isolation for them. The Franks had been deported. "If we were caught without this mark to identify us as Jewish we were told we would be sent to prison" (Goslar 81).

In My Friend Anne Frank. Hannah Goslar tells how when Jewish people were being taken away Hannah’s parents were trying to keep calm and keep it a secret but by their last year in Berlin 1933, it was impossible to keep it a secret .They ended up moving to Amsterdam. Whenever school started she became friends with Anne Frank and where happy, Until the invasion happened.
