Betty has now met Ashling’s aunt and mother. Learned that the twin sister was supposedly kidnapped and never found, with her father as the potential suspect. The deep trauma within the family and Ashling’s behavior is gradually making sense, but there’s still so much mystery behind it.

Following more of Betty’s college experience. She is now falling more in love with Ashling. Her interview with 103-year-old Eilis for her folklore class was unsettling. The fainting spell she went through and her describing “hungry grass” in reference to the historic famine was really interesting - alluding to the idea that Betty is more connected to the spiritual realm than we know.
