Finished the first novella (first show season) and about half way through the second. The morality of Ser Duncan despite his lunk nature creates a well sense of morality and stoicism that creates a compelling hero.
Egg on the other hand contrasts dunk amazingly, with his wisdom despite his young age falling right in line with his lack of world experience.
The two contrast each other but ground one another well.
