SETTING
The setting of the story takes place during World War II in the 1940's. It starts in Berlin, Germany where Bruno lived with his family before moving to a new house in Auschwitz. One scene we are at Bruno's new house at "Out With" by the concentration camp. This is during WWII in the 1940's. Bruno looks out his window and sees a fence on the other side he see lots of people wearing striped pajamas.

The genre of my book is historical fiction. It is historical fiction because it is a made up story that takes place during a real time in history. The real time in history was World War II and the Holocaust. I haven't read enough to know if there are any other genres in my book.

Bruno and his sister both don't like their new home. They call it "Out -With". They are both lonely and have no friends. Bruno shows his sister Gretel what he saw out the window. They see a lot of people behind a fence. All of the people are wearing the same clothes that are striped. They do not know what they are looking at. Bruno wonders about the people on the other side of the fence.

Bruno has to move because his dad got a important new job. He is not happy that he has to move from his home and leave his best friends. He doesn't know what type of work his dad has to do but it's an important job.
Bruno does not like his new house. There are no other kids by him to play with. He is lonely.
