Hoping you are enjoying this.

Silvia is IMHO is one talented wordsmith and also pa whip smart individual.

I have read 4 of her novels and enjoyed each...

§ Velvet is the Night
§ Mexican Gothic
§ The Seventh Veil of Salome
§ and most recently The Intrigue

One of the readers in my virtual book club chose Mexican Gothic for our Halloween read and October book. It will be fun to discuss this one especially as it is considered Horror and I would love to have the safety net of reading Horror with a group.

I am not big on reading novels about witches, in fact I don't think I have ever read one. Not throwing any shade they are just not my cup of tea.

Looking forward to hearing what you think of this.

So far, I am enjoying it a great deal, Cheryl. It is my first novel by this author. I agree with your assessment as it is strikingly atmospheric and deeply unsettling, creating a vivid sense of unease and suspense that makes it difficult to put down.
