I’m sorry but if you’re going to have one of the characters deliberately push their love interest away bc it’s “not good for their image” I’m gonna need a WAY better reason than what I’ve been given

Simple as: “Hey Lennox. I really like you, obv. But I have a conservatorship that I’m petitioning for the end of in a few weeks. Until then we gotta lay low. Ok?”

I’m having issues with this conservatorship Jace’s mom has over him. I don’t know what his one little mistake was yet but it would have made wayyyy more sense for him to have had a troubled teen phase after his controlled childhood. Like… I feel like just one mistake wouldn’t be enough for a judge to sign off on a conservatorship

I feel like I’m supposed to care about Jace and Lennox a lot more than I do at this point
