the violence/police brutality specifically in this book/series is so intriguing. when the cops raided a gay bar (pre-Stonewall, mind you) they didnt do anything? “we were looking for immoral behavior but we didnt find any, legally speaking” as if they care about a legal excuse to harass gay people

idk it just seems silly to write about a period of high tension between cops+queer community and then brush it off
