notes: the cult had a meeting in Aug ‘94, where Kasahara’s father AKA “Uncle” confronts the Holy Mother about Naruki. May ‘94, Naruki’s body was found. “Uncle” dies in ‘94. the Rebirth Congregation was disbanded in ‘99. Yakeo was in the brothel in 1971, and was bought by Mr Hikura. Yakeo dolls found in Hikura homes

before i finish this book, i need to make a timeline and come character connections.

this book has so many twists and turns. the reveals consistently catch me off guard. i feel like i need a small notebook to keep all the details correct.

so Yakeo was the Holy Mother. she jumped in front of a car to save a kid, but what happened to her own daughter? did Mr. Hikura do something to her?? too many things are happening in 1994.

okay. so Kasahara’s dad knew Naruki. He is “Uncle,” but… who is Naruki’s “mother”??

poor Naruki… i think that’s the saddest chapter of any book i’ve ever read.

i think all of this is related to the cult?

Were Yayoi’s parents in the cult? Did her mother think she was a child of sin??

hey, this is crazy. SPOILERS AHEAD:

so the bird found in the watermill from file 3 was really a woman, but that would mean someone trapped her in there.

also, the Hikura Homes? Is Masahiko Hikura the father of the girl from the Mousetrap house??? He’s also in a cult?? So, he’s killing and hurting people probably. This is literally insane.

It’s wild how these are connecting, and honestly, I’m scared.

i get a weird tightness in my chest when i start a chapter, but by the end, the tightness is gone and confusion sets in.

I learned what a Tatami room is as well as an aquiline nose. More research to come.
