Finished Books 3 and 4: David's mother and infant half-brother have passed on. David is left in the Mr. Murdstone and his sister Jane, neither have any parenting instincts. They immediately decide that he needs work his way through the world at 8 years of age. He is sent to London to work at Mudstone and Grimsby, which is a liquor distribution business. It's a nightmare existence for a child.

Page 84 is a completion of Books 1 and 2. David is being reared by his Mother Clara and housekeeper {Clara} Peggotty at Blunderstone Rookery. Mrs. Copperfield, a widow, remarries to Mr. Murdstone, who immediately decides, along with his sister Jane that David needs discipline and schooling outside of his Mother's influence to send him off to Salem House School, a boarding/disciplinary school.
