I think they did that mainly to set things up for the next book in the series and keep the storyline connected to the first two ones

I, admittedly, have not read any of the other books so I am undoubtedly asking for it! I just want these two to get their shit together though…I don’t care about anyone else right now 😂😂😂
I feel like the whole series is meant as a timeline for the whole family. tbh I think it's kind of a lie that they're standalone books? I plan to read books 1 and 2 as well now, because the plot is so clearly ongoing.
I think it does a better job of pretending to be a standalone than some other books I’ve read out of a series but I definitely have NO idea who most of these people are 🤣🤣🤣
