An earthquake hits and they have to flee before the tsunami, the old man was pinned but she refused to leave him behind

At home the trapdoor is stuck due to the floor warping w the earthquake, they have to borrow the painted house neighbor’s tools but he insisted to help but she pretends the old man has eczema so doesn’t want to be seen lol

She gets a new job at a spice company

While R keeps her manuscript she’s no longer able to feel emotions while reading it or paint a picture

Her and the old man are chilling in his boat e Don, he asks if she’s in love w R and she’s vague but does say he’s too dense to over come out of the storage room like a deep sea creature couldn’t come to the surface

She has to make a show of burning some b/c it’ll be suspicious as a novelist if she didn’t, she can’t even remember what’s in each one so she has to decide what to hide w R and what to burn, one last tries to get them to stop and is removed by the MP

She tells the old man she’ll continue to write and he continues to listen to the music box everyday

The library is burned down

Her neighbor across the way need a place to stay while their house is painted, they didn’t poke or prod

MC takes in a dog Don from the family that was taken for hiding someone

Next disappearance is novels and R urges her to continue writing to maintain the memory and not lose the connection

Story: the character stays in clock tower, fed and washed by the teacher, when he’s speaking to students below she realizes she cannot understand any of them, can only understand him and it’s too late to escape because she’ll never reintegrate again

At the market a woman selling vegetables asks MC if she knows anyone who can hide her, and later when she’s not there MC doesn’t know if she found someone or was taken

During their search, the rug corner is turned up slightly but the men don’t notice, MC cannot get the music box tune out of her head, they burn her planner since there’s no need for dates anymore without calendars

MP leave and the neighbors were hiding someone, so they’re taken

MC cries in the secret room, everything built up until then

In her story the woman loses her voice it’s trapped in the typewriter, her professor did it

Calendars are next to be disappeared

Supplies are low so getting food is hard

They exchange gifts, R gives the old man a disappeared music box

MP arrive! MC and old man rush upstairs to let them inspect the house, they’re questioned why there’s so many dishes (party prep)

She goes to MP HQ to drop off care package to the man but they turn her away but not without having her fill out a form and drink something

Old man returns after 3 days, turns out some ppl who still remember escaped the island via boat and wanted his guidance but since he doesn’t remember boats he couldn’t help

R’s wife has her baby so she goes in his stead to drop off something

MC’s editor is the same as her mom, he has not forgotten, she decides to make a hideout for him in a storage space in her home w help from old family friend who’s handy, R moves in and the friend sends his wife stuff for him

Fruits and photos are the next to be disappeared

The MP take the old handy man so MC is freaking out thinking they’re on to them

They’re rounding up ppl to do genetic testing to find ppl who might be immune

She gets a late night visit from a professor who was a friend of her parents w his family fleeing to a safe house from the memory police, he requests MC keeps the sculptures her mom left w him

In her basement her mom kept mementos kinda like relics from Silo and she must’ve gotten rid of them knowing she was to be taken
