MOTIF- childhood/children in general
a. The playing children in the first chapter.
b. Holston reflecting on how he used to see the silo as a kid (also contrast)
c. Allison being unable to have kid
d. Jahns and Marnes going to the nursery
e. Jahns saying that she never had a chance to have children
f. A lot about perfect families of two kids.
g. Peter Nichols’s son being stillborn.

This is probably nothing, but I just find a lot of the sentence structure on this page interesting. It has very long sentences with actions he did listed, and complies with parallel structure. It makes the prose read frantic or panicky.

Page 3: “The children were playing while Holston climbed to his death; he could hear them squealing as only happy children do.”

I'd say this seems like irony or juxtaposition. Leaning towards irony.

Okay so wool. The first thing I'm seeing here is the title. The way I see it, it means several things.

1. The literal meaning, which is that the cleaning cloth is made of wool.
2. Sheep's wool, as in the people inside of the silo are sheep.
3. That phrase 'to pull the wool over one's eyes' as in obscuring the truth

This poor book is about to get completely dissected... (I chose to read it for school and I have to write an essay about it or something)
