Enjoyable but not equal to Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. A more cynical take on the subject matter of real life espionage and really trashes the "cousins" as brutes.
The improbable romance between the tragic hero Westerby and the underdeveloped and unbelievably Worthington is a major flaw in this novel, imo.
I didn't like seeing Smalley reduced to a patsy of the Cousins.
A page turner, nonetheless.
