Alex made herself enter. Why the hell was she so nervous? This was Darlington-scholar, snob, and pain in the ass. No mystery there. But she'd held his soul inside her. She could still taste him on her tongue.

It's okay. That manic giggle that was released from somewhere deep inside of me was totally coincidental. Tots.

"Darlington?" Alex stammered. "I... Where are you going?"
"To get some clothes, Stern," he said, climbing the steps and leaving bloody footprints behind. "A man can spend only so much time without trousers on before he begins to feel like a deviant."

"You can bring us back to life?" Daniel asked.
So the Arlington brains had skipped a generation.

"Pardon?" said Turner.
"We need enough saliva to dissolve the salt."

I actually laughed out loud here and boy did I need that, what with everything about to go down!!!!

Alex, in all honesty... if were you, and a beloved dead had returned to life in flesh and blood, I'd be a bit concerned. IF you know what I mean 😩

"The niches are all empty," Dawes said.
"They are?" Alex asked, completely lost.

When Alex woke, the sheets were soaked with sweat, and the wound at her neck was leaking pale pink rivulets of blood.

Sanity is being lost by the freaking minute!!!!

"They look like real estate agents," said Turner.
But Dawes looked more terrified than when they'd opened a por-
tal to hell. "Those are Darlington's parents."
