“in this way the unpleasantness of human misery and environmental decay can be hidden away, nestled between an open pit mine and a toxic waste dump.”

“They are the engines of progress.”

Haha, so cutting in its truth!

Love the term that Nat introduces regarding wealthy countries, “Plastic Addiction!”

It’s such an amazing product but such a scourge in the way it’s currently used and disposed.

The insights into ecosystem services is interesting. The role of midges in the pollination of the cacao plant and especially the role of the vulture in the management of dead bodies in Nepal and India. I saw these birds 🦅 like sentinels on a rafting trip down the SunKosi River near Kathmandu when I was 21yrs old. How Diclofenac has led to the catastrophic demise of their populations. 😔

Elegant analogy!

“The children born today face the very real possibility of a world empty of much of its wildlife.”
