I didn't have high hopes for the novel. I'd seen the cover in my list of recommendations before and it didn't call to me. After reading a bunch of good enough m/m romance novels, I was just looking for something else to read. To my surprise, there is a wonderful ridiculousness to the writing that make me really happy. The style reminds me of the novels of Simon James Green, another British writer whom I love.
