Ed Curtin’s Reviews > The First Tycoon: The Epic Life of Cornelius Vanderbilt > Status Update

Lotta good takeaways so far, including my first in depth look at the Stevens family which is cool. However, the dominant one thus far is that the infant and childhood mortality rate was astronomical and I am very lucky to live when I live. Every single person in this book lost multiple siblings and children before the age of like 5. We are the third but kinda only the second generation to live without that reality
