This is wholesome, but bless her heart, I'm not sure the author has ever met a teenager. I have 3 precocious teens who literally NEVER speak or think with the clarity and confidence every child in this book possesses.
That said, my kids do lack the self awareness to see that they are full of angst, so perhaps this book would be great for them. No harm in a disguised history book, right?!
