Turns out Keir is essentially engaged (arranged to be marriage mafia style) and that woman tricks her to torture her. Keir rescues her but doesn’t kill the woman because rules make it where he can’t (?). He wants Sailer but she refuses to want him back. Good.

Umm, he barely lets her live, treats her horribly, but now he misses her? Nope.

Why is Keir such an asshole? I mean, I know evil dad etc, but come on. Is this suppose to be him afraid of his feelings for her so he’s compensating but being a dick? Killed her awful Husband finally but now making his debt hers after knowing he didn’t ever love her? Thats just worse. How am I supposed to believe she’ll ever want Kier?

She knows he plans to kill her, and that he husband always knew that too. But yet still does this strong and meek/obey flip? I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS WOMAN. He does plan to kill her — it’s not a misunderstanding. And the demeaning words? I hate him calling her a B and mean words for sex workers. These two suck as people.

Thank god no rape, but idea of “selling” someone is off putting in a mafia book. It’s the ownership idea that reeks of slavery. Regardless, these people are back and forth in their own internal dialogue. She loves and hates and doesn’t want to die but wants to divorce her addhole husband. What? She hates her captor, is meek, but also only belongs to herself, but has sex with him? Find a personality, lady.
