The novel starts with the story of Wind Maiden, who I had a difficult time relating to. She was selfish and mean-spirited. JoAnn has a beautiful way with words. "The sun dripped its idle rays down to the forest floor." As I've read the story, I can see my own life in Wind Maiden's story. How have my own selfish thoughts devastated those around me and killed my own spirit? A thought-provoking book.
