Cute. Too long, in that moments were stretched interminably by extended bouts of interiority, but cute. The prose was a little painful with its overabundance of similes but I get that it was going for lyrical. I’m not a big Swiftie so I’m not sure how closely this follows her backstory but it was fine. I liked the MMC, more than the FMC I think. I liked that they both followed their own paths.

Audiobook library loan. Hoping for something cute and fluffy, even if it’s not subtle who it’s based on. The prose is a struggle though. Every third sentence is a simile (“her voice like hardened honey”) and eighty percent of them are music-related in both POV.
