Hm, this one isn't getting me yet! While I appriciate the setting, I don't find Ken to be an interesting character to keep looping back to as the enigmatic owner of the stationary store.

I am always very in or out with these Japanese short story collections, so I'll admit it'll be a coin toss on if I enjoy it. Usually I think I find the stories to be lacking in any true emotions, the feel fickle and undeserved. This first story was fine, I don't feel particularly passionately but the set up is good and I can get by with noting down any tempting stationary items.
