Less than 1/3 through the book, the party has instructed all wine bottles be rid of their labels and if ordering wine it is to be shite or red. The lead up to this between the count and the bishop is so quaint.
But the chapter ends .. On the 22/6/26, the count will drink to the 20 year anniversary of his sister’s death, then leave this mortal coil. I hope not I have 350 pages yet to read.

After thinking that Count had determined to kill himself in 1926. I ended up in the chapter called1926, I was in book 2 and there are 3 more books in the book to read and I am in less than 1/4 of the actual book through.
Fortunately there is reprieve in the captivity of the count and I am back full throttle into the book. It’s certainly a good read.

Not sure what to think of the book. I had read the Lincoln Highway and enjoyed it. It was different. This book was gifted to me In January 2026 and in late June 2026, I am on page 83. Reading gentleman in Moscow and enjoying it immensely. I. As m sticking with the book and please stick with me.

Intriguing , love the slow style of the story. The history , i.e the revolutionary party not standing the Count against the wall and shooting him. Instead sentenced to home detention that has been scaled down in prestige. Cute , quaint come to mind however not really the right words I am looking for.
