I love your comment! I'm so excited, Kim. A reading friend recommended this series as she also likes the show.. I'm not too sure how I'll go with this as I prefer to read before I watch.. there are more than 20 in the series! Whichever way, I'm very excited to start. I love a quality series, and I'm very pleased you love it too :)

A great series, much better than the TV adaptation as usual. I've read 14 of them all brilliant!

Definitely one for reading first but the TV show mixes all the books up and often changes the events, especially in regard to Roy's personal life and his wife, Sandy. I have great fun telling my wife - 'that's not what happened in the book!' - or telling her how different the back-stories of the characters are in the books compared to the TV series. I enjoy the TV series but it bears little resemblance to the books to be honest!!

Good to know.. I'll see what happens with the series, but I do sound like you when I tell everyone 'this is not what happens in the book!'
