I am excited to see how the next book goes, see who this person that sent that last text is. I also need Ophelia and Alex to be happy.

I hope that in the next book they can both find a way to heal and come together better. I think there healing journey will be very beautiful to read. The themes in this book, are so relatable and the depiction so accurate that it makes you feel seen.

Ophelia's grief, depression, the loneliness she felt, one of the last quotes of her saying they have both been fighting for so long with no room to heal, that is truly a theme throughout the story. Alex, omg I want to just hug him, he has so much going on, so much on his plate, his depression and suicidal thoughts, I truly felt so bad for him.

That part of the story plot just didn't feel shocking or exciting. I did love the rest, the romance, the murder mystery plot before the reveal, and I really liked the characters. The representation of mental health was also so accurate and relatable, it made you feel more connected with the characters. Ophelia and Alex separately were so heartbreaking and together even more.

I wasn't really shocked and the reason behind it was weak, he had an affair with her mom and got Cain Green to kill her parents because she wouldn't run away with him, and he started terrorizing Ophelia because she looked like her mom and wanted her gone but then decided he wanted her dead instead.

I think some of the transitions between scenes was lacking, they weren't smooth and the dialogue was a little off at times. I also felt like the reveal of Bancroft being the one terrorizing her, and the one that killed her parents and Sofia was underwhelming.

Final Rating: 4.5 stars
At the beginning I thought this book was going to be a five star but there was something missing that I couldn't give it a 5 star. I did like the writing, it wasn't anything mind blowing but there were minimal grammar errors and a good flow to the book.

I wasn't shocked my the revelation that it was Bancroft, and his death was also not very exciting, I'm a little disappointed

So Bancroft was having an affair with her mom, and he killed her because she wouldn't leave with him?
